One huge misconception about Martial Arts is that it cannot be learnt after one has crossed his teenage years because the body loses its flexibility with age. This is absolutely untrue.
Training in Martial Arts can get people (also adults) into great shape and look and feel a lot more flexible, toned, and physically fit with an increased agility on their feet.
Additionally it also increases physical and mental strength, improves body balance, reflexes. It helps enhance focus, concentration, hand-eye co-ordination and use of the left side of the body. Most of all; it gives a sense of achievement and tremendous self-esteem and the positivity and the confidence to go ahead and face life full-on.
Perhaps a bigger misconception is that only the " professional body builders and weight lifters " should visit the gym.
In fact, weight training or strength training as experienced by Dr. Mayur R. Morekar is a key component of overall health and fitness helping to reduce body fat and increase lean muscle mass.
Additionally it helps develop stronger bones by increasing bone density, control weight by burning calories more efficiently, boost stamina, focus and balance and manage chronic diseases helping one to preserve and enhance muscle strength.
